Brin paced on the stage of the auditorium. He wasn't pacing extremely fast, he was actually pacing very slow today. Usually his speed power always wanted to speed up, even more so when he was being extremely slow. He was testing himself though, to see how long he could walk slow without his powers kicking in. He wasn't walking in slow motion slow, but just generally slow.
He breathed in and sighed heavily. The auditorium was completely empty besides him, he actually found it quite odd. Even though school just started, every other days this place was booked after school, but nope. Not today. It was very calm where he was, and it was nice. He glanced over at his guitar which layed on the far left side of the stage, with the case closed and getting dusty. In less than three seconds, he was on the right side of the stage but was immediately on the left sitting down next to his case.
Opening it up, he smiled a little. Somehow his mood was brightnened up by seeing his guitar. It wasn't an extremely known brand guitar, but he liked the sound of it and the look of it. It was almost his world to him, even though he rarely even wrote down songs, or played already written music. He mostly just wrote small tunes he liked, even if they didn't have words, none of his songs really had words.. Maybe one or two, but they weren't extrodinary or enough to get him famous.
To him, he didn't think he was such a good guitar player. To others, he wasn't really good either. He could play though, he could compose music and by playing guitar, it took up his free time. So ultimately, he has a win.
He pulls out his guitar, getting the strap put on and walks a few feet to the edge of the stage. He looked around at the audience surrounding him, seats, the air, and of course dust. He played a few chords, tuning his guitar just right and breathed in. He gave a sort of thinking face for him, his teeth biting on his lower lip with his eyes on his guitar. He began playing something that he knew he had written before, but it had only lasted thirty seconds, he stopped hearing the echoes from his guitar. He continued on, improvising, unsure how it really sounded.

Feet clad in red Converse chucks silently made their way across the cool flooring of the Academy. The steps were timid, as if they were afraid that if a noise was a decibel too high, it would send the world crashing down. Danielle was used to being quiet, blending in and not existing. She became good at it as soon as she wanted to disappear from the news crews asking her about a night she didn't wish to discuss. The only thing that saved her from completely dissolving into the woodwork was her older brother, Jeremy. His positive and loving attitude is what reminded her that life must go on, no matter what.
But that didn't mean Danielle couldn't still stand on the outside looking in if she wanted to. She had become very good at observing. The most interesting was learning about people and their troubles. The latest thing that seemed to be hovering around the minds of all the students at the Academy was Homecoming. Who wanted to ask what girl...what girl wanted to be asked by whom. It's not that Danielle was antisocial, or against Homecoming in any way. She just never really saw what the big deal was. Each year people asked each other, and somehow managed to look over, not that she minded.
So why was she wandering around the halls of the school? She had a book she wanted to read...And her room was not an option. The grounds crew had decided that it would be most convenient to work outside of her room. The loud buzzing of saws, mowers and whatever else they used to perfectly manicure the grounds of the academy. So here she was, clutching a copy of Thomas Moore's Utopia in her hands, heading in the direction of anywhere that was quiet.
As Danielle rounded a corner, she brushed a stray piece of hair that had escaped her red headband behind her ear. Suddenly, she became aware of the sound of a guitar being played. Immediately she smiled. Perhaps Jeremy was getting some practice in as well. She could read after she stopped and said hello to her brother. She needed to complain to someone who'd appreciate her frustration with noises distracting her from her reading. With more careful listening, she noticed that the sound was coming from the auditorium, and started heading in that direction.
Danielle pushed the doors open excitedly and had ended up backstage. She saw tufts of dark hair and immediately decided that this had to be her brother. She walked swiftly across the stage and called out, "Jerem--" . She cut herself off because at that moment she realized that whoever was there, was not her brother. He looked a little similar from behind, but she had seen the profile of his face, and he was not Jeremy. Danielle quickly clamped her hand over her mouth and her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. Maybe he didn't hear you... She thought to herself as she slowly and quietly began backing up across the stage. TAGS?! brin! Brin paused for a moment stuck on what to play next. For some reason, the improvising he was doing felt like it had gone way of track from what it was. He started to play a song with a more upbeat tone to it and smiled a little. To him, it sounded like a song on one of those commericals for waking up and drinking your favorite orange juice or that face soap that woke you up. It sounded just bright and happy like one of those songs, minus words. He was coming up with it on the spot and he was pretty excited about it too. He grabbed out a pad of paper that had the music lines on them and played part of what he played, and then wrote it down, and then the rest that he had come up with.
Moments like these, happened sometimes often. Something would just come to him, and luckily, he would have a pencil and music sheets to write his songs down. The pad of paper he had, had peices sticking out from all over and it was completely beaten up. He loved it though, it was a little more than halfway used, and it was all the music he ever wrote, except a few things that were laying around his dorm. Some people think hes completely un-organized when it comes to his 'music pad' and all his music, but well, he knew where everything was and definitly where to find it.
He started to continue on, starting from the beginning again. He paused when the notes he wrote down had stopped and he restarted. He stopped again when he came to the end of what he had already written and he changed up a few notes. Brin started playing again from the beginning, but this time he continued on. When he played a piece and improvised, he's never even quite sure when hes doing it, but before he gets to far, he stops himself and plays it over, and writes it down.
Brin bit his lip again and played from the beginning. He kept going, enjoying the direction the song was going in. He stopped when he heard someone speak in the auditorium. He may have been playing, but the auditorium did echo about everything, from sighing to guitar playing and of course someone talking.
He turned around seeing a girl standing behind him, she must have come from backstage he figured. He didn't quite hear what she said, but she must have said something bad because well, she looked like she just saw a ghost. Her hand was covering her mouth, obviously trying to keep herself for talking. He hoped he hadn't scared her or something, he wasn't sure how he could but he didn't know what she was thinking.
Brin set his guitar on the stage and smiled. " Hey.." He wasn't really quite sure what to say to her since well, she did look a little shocked and he didn't know what was wrong. He stood up brushing the little bit of 'stage dust' that was on his shirt. " Are you looking for someone?" He asked her smiling sweetly, trying not to look mean. He wasn't usually so he hoped no one thought of him that way, but well... Sometimes he just wished he was able to read minds rather than run like a ninja Speedy Gonzales.

Dani's heart was racing with anxiety. Why did she have to act on such an impulse. Normally she never did anything out of the ordinary. You may see that as being mundane, but Danielle sees it as a way to keep things under control. But no, she had to give into the urge to shot her brother's name at some guys she THOUGHT was Jeremy, and now she was left standing on the stage with cheeks the color of her shoes. Before Danielle could make her escape off the stage and away from humiliation, the worst happened.
The guy who had been playing the wonderful melodies on the guitar had stopped playing and slowly turned to face her. Stupid good acoustics... Danielle thought to herself, still hearing the faint echos of sound. Had this not been a top quality auditorium, she may had escaped from this social situation unscathed.
She could tell the guy looked confused, and she also realized another thing that worsened the situation. This confused guitar playing guy, was a looker. Danielle's cheeks flushed to a deeper shade of red, something Dani wished was not possible. She lowered her hand, realizing that it was still glued to her mouth. She hoped it decreased her 'deer in the headlights' look. Then, this guy smiled at her. He actually smiled. Perhaps it was of pity, but either way it was more than people normally gave her. She was usually invisible to others through her quiet attitude and shy smiles. But no, he was looking right at her, and showing some form of emotion with his pearly whites.
"Umm. Hey..." She said finally, trailing off at the end of 'hey'. Her voice was soft and delicate, trained by years of speaking to those other than her brother and best friends when necessary. This whole scenario was what she had been trying to avoid the past few years, but it all had to come back to get her eventually. Danielle brushed another stray piece of hair from her face and continued to answer his question in the voice that did not match her first excited "Jeremy!". "I um. I thought you were my brother." She stated, glancing down at her shoes sheepishly. "He plays guitar too and I guess from behind you uh, looked like him. So apparently anyone with dark hair and a guitar is my brother..." She mentally winced. Here she was rambling on, when all she really wanted was to be out of the awkward situation. She traced a figure eight with her shoe on the ground and then glanced at his guitar on the ground. "I'm going to um...go so you can keep practicing. Whatever that was you were playing sounded good, but I didn't mean to bother you..." Again, Dani cursed herself for rambling on. Even though her voice was quiet, she seemed to have a lot to say. Perhaps this is what stems from the absence of outgoing activities: Lack of social skills. TAGS?! brin! Brin wondered what made this girl come in here. She seemed to be looking at someone but when she found him, she obviously figured out it wasn't who she was looking for. Or maybe she recognized him from school and was shocked because he was playing guitar? That might have been it, usually people question him playing guitar. Other gifteds tend to think, oh he must run all the time and well when they know he can play they are just amazing and say 'really?'
He found it quite stupid though, no one should just assume he runs in his free time. Did he just look like he wouldn't play guitar? That was a possibility but again, why assume? Explore the possibilites, for all the know, he could be some fantastic ballet dancer. Or not, he wasn't a big fan and therefore, no ballet for him.
His mind had trailed off from his original subject and he got back on that subject right away. So she might have thought it was someone else, she might have been shocked that he played guitar, and what else? Maybe she didn't know him, but from the music he was playing she wasn't expecting who she did meet anyways? There were so many possibilites that could be true, and so little time to talk. He noticed then that the girl had removed the hand from in front of her mouth, and her face was bright red. She was probably embarrassed in some way for whatever she had done.
Now he really did want to know what actually happened. He was always curious about so many things all the time, whether it was why someones favorite color was blue or what is the easiest language to translate other languages from. So right now, he just wanted to know what was wrong."Umm. Hey..." He snapped back into giving her his full attention.
"I um. I thought you were my brother." She told him and looked at her feet. "He plays guitar too and I guess from behind you uh, looked like him. So apparently anyone with dark hair and a guitar is my brother..." He smiled at this, she seemed to already be, well, interesting. "I'm going to um...go so you can keep practicing. Whatever that was you were playing sounded good, but I didn't mean to bother you..." He laughed a little, not loud but just a small laugh to himself.
" Don't worry about it.. Just playing because I had nothing better to do." He was smiling as he spoke, hoping to maybe make her more comfortable than she seemed to be. " Anyways I'm Brin." He took a few big steps towards her and held out his hand for shaking. " And you are?" Brin may of seemed odd for holding out his hand to shake, but when he was just meeting someone that was common for him to do. He was just so used to doing it that he never really noticed it was odd, no one has said anything to him either which means they obviously didn't care.

Danielle's fight or flight instincts which had been blazing about a minute or so earlier were starting to die down. Maybe it wasn't so embarrassing? He didn't seem to be mad at her for barging in. Mad people don't smile. Not as nicely as this guy did. Dani's fingers absently twined around a lock of hair, pulling and releasing. It was almost a metaphor for the tension that seemed to have dissipated from the stage. Well, the tension had been caused by Dani's awkward nature, but that was not the point.
The seventeen year old blinked a few times when she heard his response to her long winded explanation of why in the world she was in the auditorium. " Don't worry about it.. Just playing because I had nothing better to do." So perhaps he was more laid back than she thought. She took a moment to take in his appearance once more. He looked slightly older than she was, which would put him either in her grade, or Jeremy's. And she was aware of who most of Jeremy's friends were. But this guy didn't look all too familiar. Odd. The only conclusion she came to was that he had to have attended the Zeger Academy originally. That would explain why she never really saw him around before. And he was obviously also musically inclined while.. well, while Dani was prone to being found reading in a small nook of the library, or observing and helping cooks in the kitchen.
She hadn't realized she had been staring at Brin until he was right in front of her face, extending his hand out to her. She glanced at his hand, up at him and then back down at his hand again before switching Utopia into her left hand and extending her right. Thankfully, she had managed to hold off another onslaught of rose to her cheeks. She placed her own hand in his and gave a delicate shake. "Umm. Nice to meet you.." She said, mentally cursing herself for her lack of an advanced vocabulary around this guy. It wasn't that she didn't know complex words, she just seemed to be at a loss for them. "I'm Danielle." She quickly added, letting her arm fall back to her side. Before she could stop herself, she was continuing on. "I don't think I've seen you around here before... are you one of the Zeger Academy students?" There was a small pause before she quickly added. "If you don't mind me asking..." Believe it or not, this was relaxed for Dani. She was almost proud of herself for lasting this long talking to this attractive guy. Small steps. Small, teeny, tiny baby steps. Her brother would be proud. TAGS?! brin! OUTFIT?! clicky WORDS?! 456 MUSE?! just wrote a paper, so writing is on the brain. Brin wondered what she was thinking in that pretty head of hers. Just the general look she seemed to be giving off, seemed like she was caught of guard or pondering about something. He hoped he hadn't interuppted her in some way with his guitar playing, after all maybe thats why she was here. She was maybe thinking deeply about things or was busy with another task and he was probably being annoying to her. He disliked when people go through a whole lot of work after some extremely long series of conversations just to say, oh I don't like you, or I don't want to be friends. Sure, if they are talking about why he doesn't like him or why they shouldn't stay friends thats fine. When its a whole lot of random catching up and nothing, then its extremely stupid.
She did say that she was looking for her brother and that he played guitar. Brin over thinks way too much all the time, he knew he did and he wasn't proud. It always bothered him that he thought so much about certain things and then when he goes to answer someone it comes out confused and about something they were talking about five minutes ago; yet he still had been thinking about it. She said he sounded good so that probably meant not to stop, plus the fact that she asked for him to keep practicing because she interuppted him.
Really to him though, she wasn't interuppting anything but a boring moment, on a boring day. He never payed too much attention all the time he spent playing his guitar and it wasn't a priority to him, just somthing fun. "Umm. Nice to meet you.." Brin kept his smile bright and alive on his face making sure that he didn't seem mean. He didn't do it in a scary creepy way where he kept smiling and smiling, but in a nice, Brin way. "I'm Danielle." She told him.
" Pleased to meet you Danielle" Once again, Brin seems as if he speaks more of a formal language all the time. He really did to people he didn't know and to people he did know, it really depended on how well he knew them or the deal with them. He was usually a bit calm, and 'chill' around his friends and people.
"I don't think I've seen you around here before... are you one of the Zeger Academy students?" She stopped for a moment, "If you don't mind me asking..."
Brin chuckled. He figured she was from Leirner of course, they always seemed to bring up that question. Thats what they seemed to be interested in, no matter what. He hadn't met one person that at least hadn't asked what school he went to, and when he did, they all gave him some funny look or made a comment about it. They didn't approve of 'what he was.' Even though they didn't know what he was or who he was. That subject for him, seemed to actually make him angry. Usually he sort of blocked out negative energy onto people unless they really deserved it but sometimes..If they just happen to say one thing wrong, he could just end up yelling at them and being pretty darn mad. " Yeah, I attended Zeger." He talked to her like normal, and wasn't upset or anything. " I'm assuming your from Leirner then?" He replied, knowing the answer already.

Dani couldn't help but notice that her hand tingled where it had just recently been in contact with Brin. Brin... She thought to herself. What an interesting name. She spun a lock of hair around her index finger while clutching the book in her other hand. It's funny. Normally she'd be itching to run off and read, but standing here in front of her new acquaintance, she didn't have that urge. For once in a long time, she would be content to just stand and talk to this guitar playing guy. When he said "Pleased to meet you.." she felt a small tug at the corner of her lips. A smile soon spread across her face as she nodded. Pleased? She tucked the hair she had been playing with behind her ear and into her headband. Had anyone said they were pleased to meet her before? Not that she can recall. That may be because she didn't actually meet many people. But, still this was something.
She was a little confused when Brin chucked after her question. Had she said something funny? Dani gently bit her lower lip in an attempt to hid her confusion and refrain from asking any questions about the matter. She noticed he didn't seemed entirely pleased about her question, but then again he didn't seem angry again. Danielle was relieved when Brin broke the brief silence with a response. So he did attend Zeger. She wondered why he reacted that way to her question. Was it common? She had just been curious and was looking for an explanation as to why she had never seen him before. Yes, she didn't know many people, but she did see people around.
Dani noticed that his voice seemed constant and lacking hostility, so maybe he wasn't angry with her for asking such an intrusive question. She took a quick glance at the floor before raising her eyes to meet his. His brown eyes seemed so display so many things at once. Happiness, confusion and she could see a hint of secrecy in his eyes. Then again, everyone had his or her secrets, so that was a no brainer. Danielle listened to him continue. He seemed to have made the connection between her curiosity about what school he was from and her own attendance of Leirner. He seemed to ask the question, but his facial expressions led Danielle to believe that he already knew her answer. Danielle nodded. "Yes I did." She paused for a bit, unsure of what to say. How come just a few minutes the words had been just flying out of her mouth, and now she had no clue what to say next? Danielle absentmindedly thumbed through the pages of her book before speaking. "My brother is a senior here at the Academy... Perhaps you've met him? She said the first thing that came to mind, and immediately felt stupid. What if he didn't want to just stand around here talking in the first place? This is why Danielle avoided these kinds of situations; they had the potential to be so awkward. While thumbing through the book, it accidentally fell from her hands and onto the floor of the stage. Dani felt a blush rise to her cheeks and quickly bent down to pick up the book. Brin noticed as Danielle twirled her hair around her fingers. He knew some people did that when they were nervous or out of habit, but she didn't seem to be nervous around him, so probably just a habit of hers. He noticed that she was well, to him beautiful. Well a lot of people were, but she had some natural thing about her that just seemed to pop out at him. He wasn't sure what exactly that was but he shrugged it off.
Danielle smiled as he said that he was pleased to meet her. He wasn't sure what that exactly meant, besides she was happy that he was pleased to meet her? Yeah, probably, was it the way he said it that was weird? He hadn't really thought there was something wrong about the way he said it. Or maybe it was the word choicing, a lot of people didn't use please usually. It just seemed to be Brins way of saying it. So to him, it really wasn't anything, and she couldn't possibly be smiling because he just used that. He wondered if there was something behind him that was amusing, or something embarrasing about himself? Oh the possibilites.
The shy smile on her face faded into a look of confusion. What did he say wrong now? Was she that upset that he was from Zeger instead of Leiner. He had been thinking about how Leirner kids had been spreading rumors around about the Zeger kids, hopefully he hadn't looked angry while thinking about it. Just some things, some times, really angered Brin. The whole fact that someone found out about Zegers secret and then decided to tell practically the whole Leirner Academy about the fact that the Zeger kids are some genitically modified freaks just made Brin want to explode at someone. In theory of course, he would truly be yelling at them.
Brin shoved his hands in the front pockets of his jeans, relaxed and calm. He wondered whether he should say something to break the amazing silence they were in. It was the silence that every teacher wished they had from every class, so silent that they could hear a pin dropping on the floor. He didn't believe any class had that much silence, unless it was a soundproof room and there weren't objects in the room that could make noise. Then, sure drop the pin and see if they hear it, if yes, that teacher has some good luck.
Danielle broke the silence, bringing up her brother. "My brother is a senior here at the Academy... Perhaps you've met him?" Brin almost laughed, he smiled a little though, and gave no hint of laughter. How was he supposed to know her brother? Brin seemed to be thinking a little immaturely right now but it was true. He couldn't really tell if he knew her brother unless they looked exactly alike, she pointed him out or if she actually knew her last name, or his first and last. It always were the little details that count.
" Well honestly, I haven't come across anyone that has looked quite like you and if you gave me a first or last name, that sure would be helpful." He smiled at her really actually realizing that he did seem to speak different. Different than most guys at least. He seemed to be more.. Old fashioned maybe. Brin watched as her book seemed to fall onto the auditorium stage floor and he began to bed down, taking his hand out of his pocket to extend his arm out and grab the book. Everything seemed to be going in slow motion as Danielle quickly picked up her book, but on her way back to standing up, Brin just was a little too close and his head bumped into hers. He fell off balance for a second but caught himself and turned his attention to Danielle to make sure she was alright. " You okay?" He asked her just making sure.

Danielle felt uncomfortable during the silence, not sure what to say. Not sure what to do. What was really bothering her was the fact that she seemed to care so much about what Brin thought. Was it the fact that she found him attractive? The fact that he was someone new? Perhaps she was finally starting to loosen up? No. No she was still not ready to talk to anyone about what had happened that night. For some reason, Dani was sure she would never let herself get close enough to someone in order to tell them about her sister. She never brought it up with Jeremy.. but there were nights, there were times when a wave of grief struck Danielle, and Jer was there to help her feel better. And she knew he knew why she was so upset. But as Danielle glanced at Brin, she wondered if she could get that close. Who was she kidding, she would probably never see him again after this brief meeting.
Why was she over thinking this? Why didn't she just apologize, say goodbye and leave like she normally would? Something was keeping her, and it was driving Danielle crazy not being able to know what that reason is. Perhaps she was just suffering from severe lack of sleep. She had stayed up quite late the last couple of nights in order to finish her homework. Danielle broke the silence, but did not realize the ambiguity of her statement. As soon as Brin answered her question, Danielle felt a large wave of embarrassment overcome her. How could she have been so brainless? How the blazes was he supposed to know if he knew her brother if she didn't even tell him a name. He didn't know her last name..and yeah, Jeremy resembled her, but they weren't twins or anything. Dani felt sick to her stomach and then realized again that she cared about what Brin thought. She bit her lip, willing her cheeks to turn back to a normal color. It seemed like she had rosy cheeks the entirety of the conversation.
Her internal freakout ended when she saw him smile. Was he teasing her? That possibility made her cheeks deepen to a dark pink. At this point Dani willed herself to disappear. At this point she just wish she had kept her mouth shut the entire time and gone straight to the library. But. But she enjoyed talking with him... he was nice. It just so happened that she was incapable of not embarrassing herself. She spoke softly, "Jeremy. His name is Jeremy Marks." She managed to say without stuttering or surprisingly any impediment. It was after she uttered these words that her book fell, and as she quickly came up after retrieving her precious book, her head came into contact with something very solid. Owwwwwwwwww. She thought to herself without vocalizing her obvious shock and quick jolt of pain. She placed her hand on the back of her head where her head had made contact with Brin's. She glanced down at the floor, feeling more than clumsy for her carelessness. "I'm Sorry She said just as Brin asked her if she was okay. "I'm fine. It's my dignity that is missing... She stated quietly and sheepishly. She turned the book over in her hands. "I guess my coordination disappears when a good book is in danger of being tarnished.." Dani had to hide the look of mortification that was about to wash over her face from her comment about her book. Now not only was she uncoordinated.. she sounded like an uncoordinated nerd. But again, why? She normally didn't care what people thought. But Brin, he was different. TAGS?! brin! Brin noticed something about silence now days, it killed. Maybe just figuratively rather than literally but it still killed. It didn't just kill either, it murdered, committed suicide. Silence was deadly, and its just always been like that. Well unless your deaf, but that is a completely different story. That is something that should not be mentioned when a famous book about 'Silence Kills''s author ends up making a big speech about his whole book. It definitley would be something when everyone comes back with, 'what about deaf people? Does silence kill them too?' Yeah then the author would be one of those people accused of having something against deaf people.
Silence though, always seemed to just end up bad.. It always put people in so many awkward situations and really, killed, murdered and led to suicide. It was a cruel, evil, stupid, mean, jerk, and a grr faced meanie pants. Brin sure didn't like it and neither did anyone he knew, well that he knew of at least. No one really liked it, unless it was that nature silence stuff..
Brin basically was staring off in to space, well that was filled with Danielle, but still. "Jeremy. His name is Jeremy Marks." Brin focused on Danielle now, as she had spoken and he began to think. He thought he knew a few Jeremys, there was that science geek, or the computer geek.. There was also the one that was emo and in the drama club. Wait he wouldn't really call him Jeremy though, that would have been the mime. Nope. No Jeremy Marks he thought. It did sound familiar to him though, although it might have just been the fact that he knew a lot of Jeremy's. He wasn't quite sure though, she had said he played guitar right? He was also a senior so now, Brin really wasn't sure. He would probably have to go out on some search for him, just to see if he was anything like his sister, Danielle.
He probably wasn't though, already from how long Brins has known her he could tell she isn't very open. She seems to keep to herself, and not talk to a lot of people. She definitly was shy, from the way she blushed completely when he even talked to her and how she kept the book held close to her. She was definitly some mystery though too. Sure, he just met her and there was tons of mystery about her that he didn't know and at the moment, he was definitley deciding on taking on the challenge of getting to know her way better.
" I don't think I've met him, but I'll keep an eye open for him" Brin told her realizing something. He always seemed to be generally nice and kind to about anyone. Just was mostly always polite and gave them the best answer he could, while still telling the truth.
"I'm Sorry" Danielle told Brin, reffering to bumping heads. Brin almost laughed a little. "I'm fine. It's my dignity that is missing..." He smiled at this just amused. "I guess my coordination disappears when a good book is in danger of being tarnished.." She was just really quite shy wasn't she?
" Hey! Don't worry about it! No big deal. If its anyones fault, it was mine, I should have let you pick it up, it is your book." Brin knew he was being a little bit too nice to her about this but he couldn't help it. He was smiling a little, and she was probably a little confused on why he seemed happy but she could wonder. He just was generally happy, something new came along his path, and it would probably be a little while before hes able to peice all the peices of her puzzle together.

Dani could not help but be surprised at the fact that she was still standing here, talking to this guy. This was perhaps the most time she'd spent directing interacting with a peer by her own will. Normally she shied away from social situations such as these. It made her more comfortable to feel invisible. Danielle would dread getting called on in class because depending on the subject, she either didn't know the answer, or she knew the answer and more. And either way attention would be brought to her. Danielle wasn't a drama queen who adored basking in attention. So remaining a part of the background seemed like the most ideal position for Dani. She had been perfectly content being the girl who stayed home from school dances, and just lived her own private life. Yes, she still had her friends, they were few in number, but they normally had the same outlook on life as Dani did.
But as she stood there talking with Brin, she realized she didn't mind being seen. Perhaps it was because Brin was so... so... nice. He listened to her, didn't raise his eyebrows at her when she said something without thinking too much, and most of all, he saw her. He didn't just let his eyes glaze over her, no, she was able to look into his own brown eyes...and see the swirls and depths of his inner secrets. No, she had no idea what they were, but she had enough experience keeping her own secrets that she could spot others who carried some kind of baggage quite easily. Although she came to realization that she liked speaking with Brin, she still held her guard up. She was not going to get her hopes up that she would even get the chance to talk with Brin again, so she needed to keep her wits about her.
She smiled shyly at his comment about looking out to see her brother. For a moment she thought about the possibility of Brin becoming friends with Jeremy, meaning Danielle could be friends with him too. But this all depended on whether or not Brin wanted anything to do with Dani. If he could see the emotional baggage that Danielle was carrying, he would probably turn and run. Danielle decided that she needed to make the best out of this meeting she had with Brin... Maybe she'd get a chance to be friends with him, or maybe she'd fade back into the background once more.
She bit her lip gently when Brin insisted it was his own fault, and felt her stomach flip flop. Why was he being so nice? Was he always this nice? Or were people always this way? Perhaps keeping herself isolated from the social world so long had caused Danielle to have a cloudy idea of what was the norm for social interactions. "But... I... You didn't have to.... I'm still sorry." Danielle was flustered that she had failed to complete several sentences, so she just gave up. She clutched her book close to her once more, hoping it would lighten the shade of her cheeks. Why did she keep blushing so much. Apparently this meeting had caused many questions come up in Danielle's mind. "I guess I just really like this book.." She added in a quieter tone. "I'm sure you have something, some hobby that keeps you sane." She smiled weakly, before adding, "You know, school can get pretty stressful..." She hoped this addition would not lead him to believe there was anything besides school troubling Danielle. The funny thing was that reading did keep her sane. It was something constant in her life that swept her away from the world she lived in and the troubles that came with it. TAGS?! brin! OUTFIT?! clicky WORDS?! 630 MUSE?! "But... I... You didn't have to.... I'm still sorry." Didn't she give up? Brin hated when these situations happened, hes never really had a situation like it but still! You'd think a girl would just let him take the blame! But nooo. Obviously Danielle wasn't going to let him take the blame for this.. Well actually, Brin wasn't going to let her take the blame for it, he just couldn't let her.. It was in his nature not to. Truly though, it was his fault! She dropped the book and he saw her start to go down for it, but his odd gentlemen self told himself to pick it up for her. As he went down to grab it though, she had already picked it up and both their heads collided with one another.
Brin put his hand on her left shoulder and looked at her. He was smiling which kind of made sort of the 'serious-ness' go away, if there was any. "Look. It was my fault Danielle... Seriously.. I'm not letting you take the blame if you get some head injury from it. " Brin let go of her shoulder, yet he was a foot away and was looking into her eyes.. Her eyes were gorgeous he thought, actually she was pretty he decided.
Brin wondered what she had been thinking about before she spoke. In a way, she seemed as if she was maybe in deep thought about something. Her face was still a bit pink, he assumed from still being shy. She definitley seemed like the type of girl who would sit in libraries for days and days just reading good books to entertain. And whenever someone would speak to her, she'd be speechless because, who would ever want to talk to the girl who was always quiet and read books in the library for days? Brin knew he would, he actually really he thought, was. Because in fact, she was that girl. Or so he assumed.
There was nothing wrong with that girl though, she may be shyer and quieter but still someone good to talk to. So why not talk to her? "I guess I just really like this book.. I'm sure you have something, some hobby that keeps you sane." She smiled slightly and continued. "You know, school can get pretty stressful..." Brin agreeded. He did have a hobby that kept him sane most of the time, it was running.
A lot of people may find him crazy when he says that his hobby is running but he doesn't care.. Thats just what he does. It calms him about anything emotional or puts his stress on hold. Its nice, even though its his power to run super fast, its just...awesome. He thinks so at least, he guessed it was part of him, so of course it was going to help him, and yet be really bad at helping at times.
Brin stopped thinking for a moment. Well, then continued of course. Danielle went to Leirner, so therefore she didn't have any powers. He wondered whether she knew about it Zeger kids having powers. Actually, she would probably know if her brother went to Zeger. Yikes. Then she probably already knew that he has some sort of special powers.. Just a matter of time before she asks, 'So Brin, whats your magical power?' God, sometimes when gifted ask that, and he tells them, they just laugh or are like oh. Because he didn't have a very good power. Not a good one at all, at least not to anyone else.
" I completely understand.. School for me right now, is stressful and theres just some things that keeps me focused and ready for anything thrown at me.. Besides my good defenses that is." He joked around a little, trying to get her to maybe talk a little more. " It's good that you've found something to keep you sane. " He smiled at her, wondering if she was going to ask about his hobby.
